Clay Blair, Acoustic Guitar on SoundBetter

About Me

From his early days recording in his parents' basement to playing The Cavern Club at 17 with the world's youngest Beatles tribute band, Clay's journey has been driven by an insatiable curiosity about sound. This curiosity led him from touring with his own band, The Treasury, to running Altamont Recording in Asheville, NC, and finally to Los Angeles, where he opened Boulevard Recording in 2011.

Clay's expertise lies in creating productions that are sonically rich and emotionally resonant. He specializes in retro rock and roll, folk intimacy, and smart pop sensibilities, all infused with authentic 60's and 70's vibes. His secret weapon? An encyclopedic knowledge of recording techniques combined with state-of-the-art technology, allowing him to recreate the sound of any era with pinpoint accuracy.

Reach out to Clay today, and let's start crafting your musical legacy.

Kind Words

"I feel like 2020 was a time where there was a blistering lens on social injustices, and a time where I feel like folks really had the time to listen. And I knew of Clay's place to be a place of refuge and togetherness, and a place that a lot of musicians went for the feeling of the place."
